(b) The scholar who is mentioned in your letter may have mistaken
the Lion-Capital type of coins of Nahapana for the Lion
Capital-Inscription of Mathura. (2) The name of Nahapāna is definitely not inscribed on the Lion
Capital Inscription of Mathurā. (3) There is nothing whatsoever belonging to the Jains of that it is
connected with Jains. This Inscription refers to the Holy Sākya Buddha, the stūpas, the universal Sangha of the Sarvastivādins, and
the Mahasanghikas, which names have nothing to do with Jainism. (4) Relationship between Bhūmaka and Nahapāna : We simply know
from their coins that Bhūmaka preceded Nahapana; but there is nothing to show that Bhūmaka was the father of Nahapana.
