. SPIRITUAL LIGHT. एवं च धर्मस्यैव कर्त्तव्यत्वेन प्राप्ततया तस्य प्रभावं प्राहसंसारदावानलदाहतप्त आत्मैष धर्मोपवनं श्रयेचेत् । क्व तर्हि दुःखानुभवावकाशः कीदृक् तमोभास्वति भासमाने?॥५६॥
(58) There is no scope for miseries, when the embodied soul scorched by the conflagration of the worldly existence, resorts to the pleasure-garden of religion. Of what significance is darkness when the sun shines. ? Cf Is not religion, rightly understood,
A pledge of peace, the bond of brotherhood, A shield against whatever would destroy Fraternal concord and domestic joy ?

સંસારરૂપ દાવાનલની જવાલાથી બળતે આ પ્રાણ જે ધર્મ રૂપ બગીચામાં વિશ્રામ લે, તે તેને દુઃખ અનુભવવાને વખત ક્યાંથી ? આવે ? કારણ કે સૂર્ય તપે છતે અલ્પકારને રહેવાનું કેવું ? ”—૫૮ धर्मस्यैव गौरबमाहमातेव पुष्णाति पितेव पाति भ्रातेव च स्निह्यति मित्रवञ्च । प्रीणाति धर्मः परिषेवितस्तद् अनादरः साम्प्रतमस्य नैव ॥१९॥
( 59 ) Religious duty, if discharged properly, rears the embodied soul like a mother, protects him like a brother, advises him like a friend; consequently it does not deserve to be disregarded. ૧૮
