અગત્યની કહેવતો
સીંડે ચડશો તે ચોર : ચારી કરતાં પકડાય તે જ ચાર ગણાય–Only one who is caught in the act of stealing can be labelled a thief.
જેવી દૃષ્ટિ તેવી સૃષ્ટિ : The world appears as one is predisposed to

ઝાઝા હાથ રળિયામણા : વધારે માણસાના સહકારથી કામ ઝડપથી અને સારુ થાય– A work is done quickly and more efficiently by the co-operation of many. ભય દેખાય–One becomes over cautious after an unhappy experience. દોરડી બળે પણ વળ ન છોડે : ગમે તેવા સોંગામાં માણસને અસલ સ્વભાવ બદલાતા નથી–A man's nature does not changein any circumstances. ધીરજનાં ફળ મીઠાં છે : Patience always pays.
લોબીનો કૂતરા નહિ ઘરનો કે નહિ ઘાટનો ઃ અન્ને પક્ષોને ખુરા રાખવા મથનાર
બન્નેને અપ્રિય અને –One who tries to please each of the two opposite parties, loses the goodwill of both.
