It may be noted in this connection that Gotama opens his Sutra with an enumeration of the subjects treated in the book, i.e., with a table of contents. Every item of this table of contents may be reduced to one or other of the six (or seven) categories of the Vaiseșika. The curious reader will find such attempts made in the Dinakari, etc.
