PREFACE
The present volume which forms the second part of the Descriptive Catalogue of the Vedānta Manuscripts in the Government Manuscripts Library at the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Poona, comprises the description of 445 Mss. belonging to the Vedānta section. The first part of the present catalogue was published in 1949 and I am glad to state that the third and the final part of the catalogue, which will include the remaining Mss. of the Vedānta section and which is now in the press, will also be published in due course.
I must record here my thanks to all those who have helped me in bringing out this volume, particularly to the authoriti of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute and its staff for the unstinted co-operation I have had from them in carrying out my work. In particular I must mention the fact that but for the unfailing help of Dr. M. M. Patkar who has gone through the Ms. of the Catalogue as well as the proofs in all stages of printing, this volume could not have appeared so early.
