Extent. - 30 folios; 17 lines to a page; 56 letters to a line.
Description. Country paper thin and white; Devanagari characters with पृष्ठमात्राs; small, clear and good hand-writing ; borders ruled in four lines in black ink; red chalk used; foll. numbered as usual; almost all the foll. more or less worm-eaten; some very badly; strips of paper pasted to the edges of fol. 1; condition poor; complete; extent 1800 slokas; composed in Samvat 1504.
Age.— Old.
Author.-- Pandit Somacandra, pupil of Ratnaśekhara Suri.
Subject.-- This work contains 157 stories suggested in Karpuraprakara of Harisena. These stories are at times com • posed in verse and at times in prose. A list of these stories is given by P. Peterson in his Report III. A. (p. 316ff. ). Begins.-- fol. 1© 114011

श्रीवर्द्धमानमानस्य निर्द्धतवृजिनं जिनं ॥

कर्पूरकर [T]ग्रन्थे कथाः स्रक्ष्यामि सप्रथाः ॥ १ ॥ कोsपि स्याल्लघुकर्मकः मुत्ततधीर्देशे (s) प्यनायें यत
स्तस्यादयार्द्रकुमारवत् गुणचयः किंश्वार्यदेशाश्रयात् ॥ क्षारान्धौ शशिनोऽव कौस्तुभमणेः सा श्रीः कुतो या भवत् । 'गंगा' शालिनि शंभुमूर्धिन (1) कमलागारे हरेश्वोरसि ॥ २ ॥ अत्र आर्द्रकुमारकथा ॥ etc.
Ends.-- fol. 30° इति चितयंतूत्पन्नवैराग्यः कपिल आलोचन स्थाने लोचमेव कृतवान् । गृहीतं प्रव्रज्यः ॥ ५०० चौरान् प्रतिबोधयति स्म ॥ छ ॥ ६० समाप्तोऽयं श्रीमान् कथामहोदधिनामग्रंथः ॥ छ ॥
