The names of the publishers are abbreviated (See the list of Abbreviations) In this column the word tripățha means that the text is given in the middle of the folio and on both the up and the down sides of the text the commentary is copied. Pafcapāṭha means that the commentary is als copied in both of the margins of the folio. It indicates that there are five sections of the folio. The middle is reserved for the text, up and down portions as well as the right and the left margins are reserved for the commentary. In order to distinguish the one Ms. from another of the same name we have given the beginnings of these Mss. in this column which are indicated by Beg = Beginning. This Catalogue of Sanskrit and Prakrit Mss. is prepared in accordance with the subject-list provided by the said Ministry. In a particular subject if the Mss. are found in more than one languages, first of all, the Sanskrit Mss. are listed which are followed by the Prakrit and the Apabhramsa Mss. The language of the commentaries is indicated in brackets. The details of classification of subjects can be seen in the Contents of the catalogue. In order to have an idea of the whole classification the contents of parts I and II are also included in the beginning. The entire expenditure for editing and publishing this volume is borne by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. We are very thankful to the Ministry for the same. We are glad to say that the officers of Ministry were very co-operative. Our hearty thanks are due to them as well. We have no words to thank Muriraja Sri Punyavijayaji. We bow down with full reverence to this great soul who is ever ready to help us in many ways. While preparing this Catalogue we had to take help of many. Specially I have to thank the following members of the staff of the Mss. Department of our Institute for the keen interest they have taken in preparing this Catalogue in such a short period: Pt. Ambalal P. Shah, Shri Chimanbhai Fhojok, Shri Laxmanbhai and Shri Jeshingbhai Thakor ". The fourth part of our Catalogue which lists nearly 2400 Mss. of Vijayadevasūri and Kṣāntisuri Collections is almost ready and will be published very soon. L. D.
