PREFÀCE
We have great pleasure in publishing the third part of our Cataiogue of Sanskrit and Prakrit Mss : Munirāja Sri Punya vijayaji's collection.
This part lists 966 Mss. (from 6646 to 7611). First thirteen numbers (6646-6658) are on Jyotis-Ayurveda and the rest are on Jyotiş. With this part we complete the Catalogue of Sanskrit and Prakrit Mss. of Munirāja Śri Punyavijayaji's collection. Like other two parts, this one also contains catalogue followed by an exhaustive collection of excerpts from important colophons of mss. Again, it contains two sets of indicesone pertaining to the catalogue and another to the colophons. The indices included in the first set are- of the listed works, of their authors, of the authors (non-Jaina monks and laymen occurring in col. no 4 & 5), of ācāryas etc. (col. no 11). of scribes etc. (col. no. 11), of dated works (col. no. 11), of dated Mss., and of geographical names. Indices included in the second set are - of monks etc., of laymen etc, of family names etc., of kings etc., of geographical names, of literary works etc. Thus in all fourteen complete indices are given in this part. They are no doubt an aid to scholars. They will serve as a key to the treasure of historical data contained in the catalogue as well as in the excerpts from the colophons. A glance at the index of works is sufficient to show that many of them are unpublished and are expected to throw much light on aspects of Indology that have been scantily explored. Only a few important ones may be listed here : Adināthamabākāvya by Vinayacandrasûri (13th Cent. A. D.), Kaviśikṣā-Kavyakalpalatā-Parimalaţikā by Amaracandrasűri (13th Cent. V. S.), Nyāyaparis'işta by Vámadhyaja (14th Cent. V. S.), Janmasamudra (Jyotiş) by Naracandra Upādhyāya (15th Cent. V. S), Rājahamsakumāracaritracopāí (Apabhramśa) by Dayaratna (15th Cent. V. S.), Täjikasära by Sumatiharşa (16th Cent. V. S.), Jvaraparājaya by Jayaratnagani (17th Cent. V. S.), Prastāravimalendu by Bibārimuni (17th Cent. V. S.), Gujaradeśajajavaṁśāvali by Rangavijaya (19th Cent. V. S.), etc.

We give below the explanations which will help the readers to understand fully the significance of the 11 Columns in which the information about a particular Ms. is given :1.
