day-to-day life of Souls. It reflects deep psychological understan. ding of Jain Preceptors. There are two aspects of KRIYA. There are certain KRIYAS which cause bond with Karmic matter, ( KARAMBANDH NIBANDHBHUTA) and there are other KRIYAS which release a soul from Karmic bondage, though in the last stages of the total liberation from Karmic bondage, a soul becomes wholly inactive, in all aspects and is called “AKRIYA" (Actionless).
This Cyclopaedia consists of Original Prakrita Texts ( with detailed references ) relating to Kriya and Sanskrita Commentaries, where necessary, and Hindi translation. It also contains original texts regarding various philosophies propounded by Preceptors, contemporaries of Lord Mahaveer, on the basis of Kriya and Akriya. Lord Mahaveer was known as Kriyavadi and Lord Buddha as Akriyavadi.
This book will be very useful to all scholars of Indology, particularly Jainism.

भोगे रोग भयं, अर्थात् भोग में रोग का भय रहता है। अबंभचरियं घोर पमयं, अर्थात् अब्रह्मचर्य भयंकर है, प्रमाद है। षट्खंडागम के टीकाकार आचार्य वीरसेन ने कहा है
सुक्कलेस्सिएस मिच्छादिट्टिप्पहुडिजाव संजदासंजदेहि केवडियं खेत्तं पोसिदं, लोगस्स असंखेजदिभागो ।
-षट ० खंड १ । भाग ४ । सू १६२ । पु ४ । पृ० २६६ अर्थात् शुक्ललेशी मिथ्यादृष्टि जीवों ने भूतकाल की अपेक्षा लोक के असंख्यातवें भाग का स्पर्शन किया है।
