[शिष्यः भिक्षुः यः स्थविर-उपदेशेन वन्दकैः प्रव्राजित: वेशेन । कः अपि सुतन्त्र-व्याख्याने उपविष्टः कःअपि चिन्ताकरः सः मया दृष्टः ॥]
अण्णउ तहिँ महजाणहिँ धाविउ अवरें मंडलु चक्कु विभाविउ । सहजु छंडि णिव्वाणहिँ धाविउ णउ परमत्थु एक्केण-वि साहिउ ॥ [अन्यः तत्र महायानेन धावितः, अपरेण मण्डलं चक्रं विभावितम् । सहजं त्यक्त्वा णिर्वाणे धावित: नहि परमार्थं: एकेन अपि साधितः ।।
8-9 The Buddhist monks have been initiating into monkhood of their sect novices as disciples through the preaching of the Sthaviras. Somebody sits (i.e. is engaged in) expounding the Trantra. Another I have seen given to philosophical speaulations. Another one runs after the Mahāyāna. Another one has been concentrating on the Mandala and the Cakra. Leaving aside the Sahaja they run after the Nirvāņa. Not one of them has realized the Paramārtha.
जो जसु जेण होइ संतुट्ठउ मोक्खु किं लब्भइ ज्ञाण-पविट्ठउ । किं तहिँ दीवें किं वेज्जे किं तहिँ किज्जइ मंतहँ सेज्जें ॥ [यः यस्मै येन भवति संतुष्टः मोक्षं किं लभते ध्यान-प्रविष्टः । किं तत्र दीपेन किं नैवेद्येन किं तत्र क्रियते मन्त्राणां शैय्यया ॥]
किं तहिँ तित्थ-तवोवणे जाएं मोक्खु कि लब्भइ पाणिए न्हाएं । छडुहों रे आलिक्कहाँ बंधा ते मुंचहों जे अच्छहिँ धंधा । [किं तत्र तीर्थ-तपोवनं यातेन मोक्षः किं लभ्यते पानीये स्नातेन । त्यजत रे आलीक्य-बन्धान् ताः मुञ्चत याः मिथ्या-प्रवृत्तयः ॥]
