It is a sort of religious poem, wherein we find many sayings which excel in aptitude of comparison, or pithiness of language'; cf. Winternitz, History, II. p. 467. It is edited with a critical introduction and notes by Jarl Charpentier, Uppsala, 1922 and translated into English by H. Jacobi, in SBE. Series Vol. 45.
