________________ snake in his hand. The snake did not harm him. European asked reason. The discipile told him when they don't harm other how they can harm us? An American scientist Mr. Ramulus Bahitekar is busy in research of serpent cult. at Madras. He has collected a number of serpents and has written an article in Dharam Youg of 20 & 27 December 1970 that there are more than 230 kinds of serpents out of these 50 are poisonous out of which only 4 kinds are seeing on earth rest 180 are poisonless and harmless. They also love their lives like us and have a right to pass over the earth so we should not kill them. Historical, Archological and literary prove that they are representation of Jaina Tirthankaras Parsvanath & Suparsvanath, whom people worship through out all over the world. AHINSA 1. Ahinsa is the true character of life, for it appears to all the men and beasts alike. It engenders in them love, trust and friendlyness. 2. Ahinsa does not mean any religious faith, it rather represents that sweet and loving character which makes life worthliving, which sustains it through helpless condition and makes it capable of growing into society. 3. Ahinsa is the inner urge of life to love and behave others in a way as one would like to be loved and behaved by others. 19 Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
