શ્રીમદ્દભગવદ્ગીતા સંબન્ધી થોડુંક
નિયામક નથી. “પિતાશિ હોય વાવાજી રવમય જૂથ સુરતન”—એ આ ચરાચર વિશ્વને માયાળુ અને સન્માર્ગ દેરનાર પિતા છે, પૂજ્ય છે, મહાન ગુરુ છે. ન કેવળ પૂજ્ય પિતા કે ગુરુ છે, પણ પ્રેમભરી વત્સલ માતા છે. (“માતા પાતા પિતામg:”) આપણે પિતા આગળ જે નિર્ભયતાથી હદય ખુલ્લું કરી ન શકીએ તે માતા આગળ કરી શકીએ. પણ માતા આગળ પણ હદયના સઘળા ભાવ, સઘળી – ધરી ન શકીએ. એમાંનું કેટલુંક તો મિત્ર આગળ જ થાય. તેથી પરમાત્માને સુદઉં સર્વભૂતાનાં નિવાસ ફાર .... ... રઘુ....ઇત્યાદિ વચનથી જીવાત્માને મિત્ર અને સખા. પણ કહ્યો છે. પણ મિત્ર અને સખા કરતાં પણ એકતામાં ચઢે એ
એક સંબન્ધ છે અને તે પતિ-પત્નીને. તે માટે અર્જુન “બિરઃ વિચાચાઉંસિ સેવ રોતુ”એમ કાર્યો છે. કાવ્યની વાણીમાં આ
જીવાત્મા અને પરમાત્માના નિકટ સંબન્ધની પરાકાષ્ઠા છે. એ મધુર સંબંધ ઊંચામાં ઊંચા અને સરલમાં સરલ ભક્ત હૃદયએ જ જાણ્યો છે. અર્વાચીન ભારતમાં જયદેવ અને ચૈતન્ય એ અનુભવ્યો હતો. ઈસ્લામ ધર્મના સુફી પન્થીઓએ એને રસ પીધો છે. ખ્રિસ્તી ધર્મમાં ક્રાઈસ્ટને વરની અને ચર્ચ (ધર્મસંઘ) ને વધૂની ઉપમા કપીને બતાવ્યો છે, અને એ ધર્મની પ્રસિદ્ધ સાવી કુમારિકા સેઇન્ટ ટેરેસાએ એ અનુભવ્યો હતે.
