________________ 180 SAMAYSARA practice of pratikramana and pratyák hyāna, disowning the past and rejecting the future occurrence of those inspure psychic states If on the other hand, the Self by abandoning the spiritual discipline imposed by pratıkramana and pratyākhyāna, identifies itself with the past impure emotions and leadily commits himself to future similar indulgences, he becomes fully responsible for the defects thereof, and therefore gets bound by corresponding karmas This case, is therefore analogous to the case where the person accepts the defective and impure food though he is not concerned with the preparation theieof Thus ends the chapter on bandha or Bondage Thus bandha quits the stage CHAPTER IX MOKSHA OR LIBERATION Then Moksha enters the stage जह णाम कोवि पुरिसो बधणयम्मि चिरकालपडिबद्धो । तिव्व मदसहाव काल च वियाणए तस्स ।।२८८।। Jaha nāma kovi puriso vandhanåyammi chirakālapadhibaddho Tivvam mandasahāvam kālam cha viyanaye tassa (288) यथा नाम कश्चित्पुरुषो बन्धनके चिरकालप्रतिबद्ध । तीव्र मन्दस्वभाव काल च विजानाति तस्य ॥२८८।। जइ णवि कुणइ छेद ण मुच्चए तेण बधणवसो स । कालेण उ बहुएणवि ण सो णरो पावइ विमोक्ख ॥२८९॥ Jayı navı kunayı chhedam na muchchaye tena bandhanavaso sam Kālena vu bahuyenavi na so naro pavayı vimokkham (289) यदि नापि करोति छेद न मुच्यते तेन बन्धेनावश सन् । कालेन तु बहुकेनापि न स नर प्राप्नोति विमोक्षम् ॥२८९॥ इय कम्मबधणाण पयेसपयडिद्विदीयअणुभाग । जाणतो वि ण मुचइ मुचइ सो चेव जइ सुद्धो ॥२९०॥
