It is identified with an old town in Mawana Tahsil in Meerut. 373 Hatthisisa---a city Hatthisīsa was a centre of trade and a number of sea-going merchants of this town are mentioned to have started for Kaliyadiva for trade. 274 This town was visited by Mahāvīra, who arrived here from Malaya and proceeded to Tosali 375 Its exact situation is not known Hemapura-a city The city was known for the celebration of the festival of Indra.970 Its situation is unknown. Himavanta-a mountain It is mentioned as an abode of the sage, Phalähāra 377 Himavanta is mentioned as pabbataraja in Palı literature The Milindapafiha (p. 111) states that five hundred rivers issued forth from the Himavanta. It is the famous range of mountains to the north of India so frequently mentioned in Indian literature. Himavantaküda It is said that king Pavvaya was ruling at this place. 378 Its exact location is unkoown. Hindugadesa-India It is stated that Kālaka acārya proceeded to Parasaküla from Hindugadesa and returned with ninety six kings.279 This country is identified with India, Ikkhāgabhūmı-a city Ikkhagabhūmi was another name of Ayodhyå.
