If the soul were matter or a product of matter and material forces engaged in a deadly conflict, how would we account for the psychical possibilities infinite of tripartite character viz., vision, knowledge and freedom infinite--the very esse of the soul for the unfoldment of which the mighty minds of all ages and climes have been labouring? The principles of naturalism, of aggression and self-assertion have always been in direct opposition to the teachings of the great minds whose lives have been a perpetual surrender for the good of mankind.
