The whole chronological chain may therefore he stated as follows: Padmavajra cir 693 A. D. Anangavajra cir 705 Indrabhůti ( 687-717 onwards ) S'antideva? D. 717-762 Lilavajra cir 741 S'antarakṣita. onwards Dårikapáda cir 753 705-762 Sahajayogini Cintä сir 765 Kamalas'ila Dombi Heruka cir 787 cir 763 § 3. Kamalas'ila’s personal history. Kamalasila's personal history likewise comes from the same Tibetan source as that of his Guru S'antarakṣita. The article entitled Indian Pandits in Tibeti by Sarat Chandra Das, already referred to, contains the only information we may hope to obtain from Tibetan sources. The details about his activities in Tibet are given in the following words by Sarat Chandra Das : “Accordingly be sent messengers to Magadha to bring Acârya Kamala s'ila. The Hosbang became very much concerned at this attempt of the king to encourage the Indian Sohool. He began to teach the Dharma by explaining the larger yum, Prajña Paramita and other abstruse works in his peouliar manner. He prohibited the use of the S'astras and the practice of the Buddhist Cult taught to them. To lie down perfootly inactive was explained by him as the highest praotice of religion. Dhyana (meditation was nothing bub a state of passive inaotivity, and the avoidence of disoussion on religion was to be considered as the best kind of Dhyana, when this was accomplished by one's own intolligence. The basis of the theory was not to be found in the Buddhist Soriptures. It existed only in his imagination. The Eighty Butrintas delivered by the BUDDHA which formed the foundation of Buddhism were rejected by him when they were found to disagree with his strange ideas, as useless and unauthoritative, At this junoturo Yos'es 1.
