PREFACE.
The author expresses his great satisfaction in bringing forward his very first attempt towards doing something calculated to encourage the study of Pushtimarga, otherwise known the Vallabh Sampradaya of the great Hindoo religion.
The necessity of such an introductory work was greatly felt by the Hindi knowing public. Till this work goes in press, there exists no book in Hindi literature which can give a clear but full view of this Pushtimargeeya sampradaya. In the following pages an attempt has been made to make clear to every one this Sampradaya which has been misunde rstood or misrepresented So long.
the idea of writing such a history of Pushtimarga has been present in author's mind for the last five years. But the initiation of the present venture ows its direct origin to the proposal made by the विधा समिति of the शुद्धाद्वैत वैष्मन वेल्लनाटीय ब्राम्हण महासभा of the northern vellanateeya community.
In the year 1925 A. D. the faff of the said was organised and scholarships of different types were granted to encourage the spreading of learning among its community.
