________________ Dialect and Sub-dialects of Prakıt 59 sena-paiśāci It does not vary very much from these to standard of speeches of Paiśācí He mentions only one characteristics of Pāñcala 1>r(P.XX 19, RT III 311, Mk XX 14) Rāmaśarmā (III 3 11) says that in Gauda Paiśācıka either r or I may be used for r or for 1 According to Rāmaśarmā (III 3 13-17) Paisăci can mainly be divided into two groups suddha and asuddha Lastly it may be added that in the works of Kramadīśvara, Purusottoma, Rāmaśarma and Mărkandeya, we find some interesting modern Bengalı forms These forms though can be derived directly from Prakrit, are still important, because the eastern grammarians recorded them a few centuries ago Some forms are directly mentioned by them, and some can be obtained with easy phonetic equations As these forms will be interesting, I have noted them below.
