१३७ किया और मास परोसा। सघने वुद्ध सहित उसे खाया।"१ सुत्तनिपातमे प्राणियोकी हत्याको दोपपूर्ण बताते हुए मास-भक्षणको पाप नही कहा है।
बाइबिलमे हजरत मसीहने जहा अपने शैल प्रवचनमे (Sermon on Mount) "Thou shalt not kill"-'तू प्राणिहत्या मत कर' इस वातकी सुवर्ण शिक्षा दी है। वहीं वाइविलमे ईसामसीहको सारे गावको मछली खिलाते हुए पाते हैं।
यहा हम इतना ही बताना चाहते थे कि अहिसाका व्यवस्थित पूर्वापर सगत वर्णन भगवान् महावीर आदि जैन तीर्थकरोके गासनके बाहर
१ 'पावामें चेदी लुहारने बुद्धको मीठा चावल, मीठी रोटियां तथा कुछ सूखा सुअरका मास खिलाया; बुद्धने उस भोजनको खा लिया; तभीसे उसे अतीसारका हो गया था।"
