देह - स्तुति गुण - स्तुति नहीं है

णयरम्मि वण्णिदे जह ण वि रण्णो वण्णणा कदा होदि । देहगुणे थुव्वंते ण केवलिगुणा थुदा होंति ॥
(1-30-30)
जैसे नगर का वर्णन करने पर भी राजा का वर्णन किया हुआ नहीं होता, इसी प्रकार देह के गुणों की स्तुति करने पर केवली भगवान के गुणों की स्तुति नहीं होती ।
Just as the description of a city does not entail the description of its king, in the same way, eulogizing the body of the Omniscient Lord does not entail the adoration of His divine attributes.

आत्मज्ञानी ही जितेन्द्रिय है
जो इंदिये जिणित्ता णाणसहावाधियं मुणदि आदं । तं खलु जिनिंदियं ते भांति जे णिच्छिदा साहू ||
(1-31-31)
जो इन्द्रियों को जीतकर ज्ञानस्वभाव से अधिक ( शुद्धज्ञानचेतना गुण से परिपूर्ण ) आत्मा को जानता है (अनुभव करता है) उस पुरुष को जो निश्चय नय में स्थित साधु हैं, वे निश्चय ही जितेन्द्रिय कहते हैं।
The ascetic who, subjugating his senses, realizes his Real Self which is of the nature of pure knowledge-consciousness, is verily called a 'conqueror of the senses' by the saints who know the transcendental point of view (nişchaya naya).
