अध्याय -8
ज्ञानी रागादि का कर्ता नहीं है -
ण वि रागदोसमोहं कुव्वदि णाणी कसायभावं वा। सयमप्पणो ण सो तेण कारगो तेसि भावाणं॥ (8-44-280)
ज्ञानी राग, द्वेष, मोह को अथवा कषाय भाव को स्वयं निजरूप नहीं करता है, इसलिए वह उन भावों का कर्ता नहीं है।
The knowledgeable Self does not, on his own accord, produce in himself dispositions like attachment, aversion, delusion or passions. Therefore, he is not the causal agent for these dispositions.
अज्ञानी रागादि का कर्ता है -
रागम्हि य दोसम्हि य कसायकम्मेसु चेव जे भावा। तेहिं दु परिणमंतो रागादी बंधदि पुणो वि॥ (8-45-281)
राग के हाने पर, द्वेष के होने पर और कषाय कर्मों के होने पर जो भाव होते हैं. उन रूप परिणमन करता हुआ (अज्ञानी) रागादि को बार-बार बाँधता है।
Due to dispositions of attachment, aversion, and passions, the psychic manifestations of the ignorant cause bondages of such karmas, time and again.
