________________ discriminative knowledge, free from error, then the true nature of the Self, which is pure consciousness, manifests itself, and the Self then does not entertain any impure psychic dispositions. अध्याय - 6 भावविज्ञान से शुद्धात्मा की प्राप्ति जह कणयमग्गितवियं पि कणयसहावं ण तं परिच्चयदि। तह कम्मोदयतविदो ण जहदि णाणी दु णाणित्तं ॥ (6-4-184) - एवं जाणदि णाणी अण्णाणी मुणदि रागमेवादं । अण्णाणतमच्छण्णं आदसहावं अयाणंतो ॥ (6-5-185) जैसे अग्नि में तपाया हुआ सोना अपने सुवर्ण स्वभाव को नहीं छोड़ता, इसी प्रकार (तीव्र परीषह-उपसर्गरूप) कर्मोदय से तप्त होता हुआ ज्ञानी भी अपने ज्ञानीपने के स्वभाव को नहीं छोड़ता । इस प्रकार ज्ञानी जानता है और अज्ञानरूप अन्धकार से आच्छन्न अज्ञानी आत्मस्वभाव को न जानता हुआ राग को ही आत्मा मानता है। Just as gold, on being intensely heated, does not lose its inherent quality, in the same way, the Self with right knowledge does not abandon his nature of true knowledge on being burnt (by way of hardship or torment) as a consequence of the rise of karmas. Thus, the knowledgeable Self realizes the true nature of the Self, while the ignorant, being camouflaged by nescience, gets associated with impure psychic states such as attachment. 89
