seeતરણાતો;
परिग्रहाऽऽसक्तिवशीभवन्तं मुष्णन्ति चारा विषयाभिधानाः।। दहत्यनङ्गो दहनः कषाय-व्याधा निरुन्धन्ति पुनः समन्तात् ।। ७३ ।।
૭૩. પરિચડમાં આસકત થયેલ પ્રાણીની એ દશા થાય છે કે વિષયરૂપ ચારે તેને લૂટે છે, કામરૂપ અગ્નિ તેને બાળે છે અને કષાયરૂપ શિકારીએ તેને ચારે બાજુથી ઘેરી લે છે,
73. A man who abandons himself to excessive greed, is robbed by hiaves called worldly objects, is burnt by the fira cf lust and is besieged all around by the hunters in the form of passion
पापस्य चल्लीमसुखस्य खानि दोपावली-मातरमाहुराशाम् । માતંત્ર જાતિ વેદાન પત્ર મા શશિને ૭૪ .
૭૪. તૃષ્ણ પાપની વેલડી છે, દુઃખની ખાણું છે અને દેષપરમ્પરાની જનની છે. જ્યાં ચન્દ્ર અને સૂર્યનાં કિરણે નથી જઈ શકતાં ત્યાં પણ તૃષ્ણાની ઊમિઓ પહોંચે છે.
74. Hunkering for worldly objects is called the creeper of sins, mine of calamities and source of a host of vices. The waves of desira extend to, and spread in, places where neither the rays of the moon, nor those of the sun, are able to penetrate.
आक्रान्त विश्वप्रितयोऽपि लाभ-महार्णवस्तः प्रसरन् निरुद्धः । यमोऽशतोऽप्येष समाश्रितो थैरेवंविधाः स्युगृहिणाऽपि धन्याः ॥ ७५ ॥
૭૫. લેભાવનું પૂર ત્રણે જગત્ પર આક્રમણ કરી રહ્યું છે. કિન્તુ જેમણે આ અપરિગ્રહ-ત્રત અંશથી પણ સ્વીકાર્યું છે તેઓ પણ લેભ-સાગરને પ્રસરત અટકાવવામાં સમર્થ થઈ શકે છે. એવા વ્રતધારક ગૃહસ્થ પણ ધન્ય છે.
