प्रथम-प्रकरणम्
३२१ ૨૬ સમુદ્રને પીને ખાલી કરવા છતાં જેની તૃષા શાન્ત ન થઈ, તે, તૃણના અગ્રભાગ પર રહેલા જલન્દુિના પાનથી શું તૃપ્તિ મેળવી શકશે?
26. When a man's thirst has not been quenched, even though he has dryok aud exhausted th, whole ocean, can he ever be satisfied with a drop of water standing on the top of a blade of grass ?
पारं स्वयम्भूरमणाम्बुराशेः समश्नुवानाः सुमहौजसोऽपि । अपारतृष्णाम्बुधिलङ्घनाय नहि प्रयासं प्रभवन्ति कर्तुम् ॥ २७ ॥
૨૭ સ્વયમ્ભરમણ” સમુદ્રને પાર પામવાની શક્તિ ધરાવનારા બહુ મેટા શક્તિશાલીએ પણ અપાર તૃષ્ણ-સાગરને ઓળંગવાનો પ્રયાસ કરવા સમર્થ નથી થતા.
27. Even those gifted with indomitable energy and possessing the ability to crosd over the great ocean called "Svayambhu. ramana', are not able even to make an attempt to cross the unfathomable ocean of desires.
अखण्डभूमण्डलशासकत्वं न दुर्लभं दुर्लभमेतदेव । तृष्णानिरासोपगतावकाश सन्तोष-रत्नं परमप्रभावम् ॥ २८ ॥
૨૮ અખંડ ભૂમંડલના શાસક બનવું એ એટલું દુર્લભ નથી, જેટલું દુર્લભ છે પરમપ્રભાવશાલી “ સનતેષ” રત્ન. એની પ્રાપ્તિ તૃષ્ણાને દૂર કરીએ ત્યારે થાય.
28. The sovereignty of the whole world is not unattainable; but the only thing difficult of attainment is the lustrous jewel of contentment which finds scope only after the cessation of all
