आत्महितोपदेशः
( Precept of Spiritual Benefit )
सुदुर्लभं मानव-जन्म बुद्धा तत्सार्थतायै सुधियो यतन्ते । स्वार्थ न यः साधयते स मूर्खः स्वार्थश्च नात्मोन्नतितः परोऽस्ति ॥१॥
મનુષ્ય-જન્મને બહુ દુર્લભ સમજી તેને સાર્થક કરવા સુજ્ઞ જેને પ્રયત્નશીલ રહે છે, જે વાર્થને સાધતો નથી તે પૂર્ણ છે. અને, સ્વાર્થ પણ ખરી રીતે આત્માની ઉન્નતિ સિવાય બીજું કઈ નથી. ૧
(During the transmigratury cycle of births and deaths of an embodied soul ) birth in the human form of existence is very difficult of attainment, Knowing this, wiee persone strive to make it succegsful by using it to good purposes. Fool is he who does not look to and strive for his owa enlightened self-interest which consists in, and is not different from, spiritual aclvancement, 1
संसार-भावाः सकला अनित्या मा विश्वसीस्तत्र महानुभाव ! विज्ञान-शक्ती प्रविधाय चित्रमात्मोन्नतेर्मा विपराङ्मुखो भूः ! ॥२॥
સંસારના સઘળા ભાવો અનિત્ય છે. તેમાં વિશ્વાસ ન કર. વિજ્ઞાન(ભૌતિક સાયન્સ)ની પ્રયોગશક્તિ પર આશ્ચર્ય કરી (એના ઉપર મુગ્ધ થઈ આન્નતિના માર્ગથી પરાભૂખ ન થા. ૨
