44. In souls with imperfect knowledge the two modes of upayoga - perception and knowledge - do not arise simultaneously; in such souls knowledge arises only after acquisition of faith. But in omniscient souls both, perception and knowledge, arise simultaneously. (33) The Omniscient Lord has called right knowledge (samyagjñāna) as the effect and right faith (samyagdarśana) as the cause. Therefore, it is appropriate to venerate and acquire right knowledge after the acquisition of right faith. (34) 155
