Of these the minimum avagahana (space occupied) of the Bhavadharaniya (normal) body is innumerable fraction of an angul (this is at the time of birth) and the maximum is five hundred dhanushas. ___The minimum avagahana (space occupied) of the Uttarvaikriya (secondary transmuted) body is countable fraction of an angul and the maximum is one thousand dhanushas.
(२) रयणप्पभापुढवीए नेरइयाणं भंते ! केमहालिया सरीरोगाहणा पन्नत्ता ? गोयमा ! दुविहा पण्णत्ता। तं जहा- १. भवधारणिज्जा य, २. उत्तरवेउब्बिया य।
तत्थ णं जा सा भवधारणिज्जा सा जहन्नेणं अंगुलस्स असंखेज्जइभागं, उक्कोसेणं सत्त धणूई तिण्णि रयणीओ छच्च अंगुलाई।
तत्थ णं जा सा उत्तरवेउब्विया सा जहन्नेणं अंगुलस्स संखेज्जइभागं उक्कोसेणं पण्णरस धणूई अड्डाइज्जाओ रयणीओ य।
(२) (प्र.) भगवन् ! रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के नारकों की शरीरावगाहना कितनी कही है ?
(उ.) गौतम ! वह दो प्रकार की कही है-(१) भवधारणीय, और (२) उत्तरवैक्रिय। । इनमें से भवधारणीय शरीरावगाहना तो जघन्य अंगुल के असंख्यातवें भाग और उत्कृष्ट सात धनुष, तीन रनि (हाथ) तथा छह अंगुलप्रमाण होती है। ___उत्तरवैक्रिय शरीरावगाहना जघन्य अंगुल के संख्यातवें भागप्रमाण और उत्कृष्ट पन्द्रह धनुष, अढाई रलि-दो हाथ और बारह अंगुल की होती है।
(2) (Q.) Bhante ! How large is the avagahana (space occupied) by the body of a naarak (infernal being) of the Ratnaprabha land? ___(Ans.) Gautam ! The avagahana (space occupied) by the body of a naarak (infernal being) of the Ratnaprabha land is of two kinds—(1) Bhavadharaniya (by the normal body), and (2) Uttarvaikriya (by the secondary transmuted body).
