GURUDEVAN
14. When the night comes to an end the sun lights the whole hemisphere with its rays. In the same way an acharya enlightens the world with his preaching enriched by scriptural knowledge, modesty and wisdom. Indra's (king of gods) glory becomes evident when there are many gods in attendance. In the same way a gani appears glorious when surrounded by a group of disciples. (illustration No. 20) १५ : जहा ससी कोमुइजोगजुत्तो नक्खत्त-तारागणपरिवुडप्पा।
खे सोहई विमले अब्भमुक्के एवं गणी सोहइ भिक्खुमज्झे॥ __ जिस प्रकार नक्षत्र और ताराओं के समूह से घिरा चन्द्रमा, बादलों से रहित कार्तिक पूर्णिमा की रात में स्वच्छ आकाश में शोभित होता है, उसी प्रकार साधु समूह के बीच आचार्य शोभित होते हैं।॥१५॥ ___15. The glory of the full moon is displayed when it is surrounded by stars on a cloudless night. In the same way a gani (guru) appears glorious when surrounded by a group of disciples. (illustration No. 20) १६ : महागरा आयरिआ महेसी समाहिजोगे सुय-सीलबुद्धिए।
संपाविउकामे अणुत्तराई आराहए तोसइ धम्मकामी॥ ___ अनुत्तर ज्ञान आदि गुण रत्नों को पाने की इच्छा करने वाले निर्जरार्थी Ke साधुओं को उचित है कि वे समाधियोग, श्रुत, शील और बुद्धि के महान् आकर
(भंडार) मोक्ष की एषणा करने वाले आचार्य की आराधना करें और उन्हें सदा
प्रसन्न रखें ॥१६॥ SS 16. An ascetic desirous of shedding karmas and obtaining a virtues like knowledge should always worship and please the
liberation seeking acharya who is a great storehouse of scriptural knowledge and embodiment of modesty, wisdom and serenity.
