BITTER CONSEQUENCES OF MISBEHAVIOR
१. जो पावगं जलियं-जो मूर्ख या अभिमानी व्यक्ति जलती हुई अग्नि को नंगे पाँवों से लाँघता है, आशीर्विष सर्प (जिसकी दाढ़ों में तीक्ष्ण जहर हो) को कुपित करता है, जीवित रहने की इच्छा से जहर खाता है तो ये सब उसके लिए अनिष्टकारी होते हैं, किन्तु अगर इनके दुष्परिणाम से कोई बच भी जाये तब भी गुरु का अनादर / अवहेलना करने वाला उसके दुष्परिणाम से नहीं बच सकता । ( अध्ययन ९ / १, श्लोक ८)

1. If an ignorant or conceited person tries to cross a bed of burning coal with bare feet, goads a highly venomous snake, or consumes poison, he is sure to come to grave harm. However, there is still a possibility that he remains unhurt. But it is impossible to remain untouched by the grave consequences of showing disrespect or disregard to one's guru.

२. जो पव्वयं सिरसा मित्तुमिच्छे- कोई पर्वत से सिर फोड़ने की चेष्टा करता है या सोये हुए केसरी सिंह को छेड़छाड़ करके जगाता है तथा तीक्ष्ण भालों की नोंक पर हाथ से प्रहार करता है। वह उसके लिए अनिष्टकारी है । कदाचित् उसके दुष्परिणामों से वह बच भी जाये, परन्तु जो अपने गुरुजनों की अवज्ञा / अवहेलना करता है, उसको मुक्ति नहीं मिल सकती ।

2. It is harmful to hit one's head on a rock, disturb a sleeping lion, or push at the sharp points of a bunch of lances with one's bare palm. However, there still is a possibility that one might remain unhurt. But it is impossible to remain untouched by the grave consequences of showing disrespect or disregard to one's seniors and elders.
