अप्रिय कठोर भाषा न बोलें AVOID USING HARSH AND UNPLEASANT LANGUAGE

तहेव काणं काणेत्ति-साधु असत्य और कठोर भाषा तो कदापि न बोले, किन्तु ऐसा अप्रिय सत्य भी न बोले, जिसे सुनने वाले का हृदय दुःखी, अपमानित व हीन-भावना से पीड़ित हो। (चित्र में बताये अनुसार) सत्य का आराधक इस प्रकार की भाषा पर प्रतिबन्ध रखे।
काने को काना, नपुंसक को नपुंसक, रोगी को रोगी, चोर को चोर, अंधे को अंधा, दरिद्र को दरिद्र, किसी को कुत्ता, गधा, बैल जैसे हीन अपमानजनक सम्बोधन भी न करें। अप्रिय कठोर भाषा न बोले।
(अध्ययन ७, श्लोक १२-१६) An ascetic should never tell a lie or utter harsh words. He should also not say things that, though true. are unpleasant, insulting. or humiliating to others. (As shown in the illustrations) One who observes the vow of truth should refrain from using such language.
Do not address someone as one-eyed, impotent, sick, a thief, blind, or destitute, even if he is truly so; or also as a dog, donkey, ox; or by using other derogatory terms. Do not use harsh words or unpleasant language.
