ELABORATION:
(58) When an ascetic sits in a house he happens to see and talk to the women of the household again and again. This increases his chances of being attracted to them and lose his resolve of celibacy. The members of the household continue to offer food as common courtesy, thereby causing harm to beings. If the ascetic feels like accepting these he damages his discipline. While the ascetic is sitting, the members of the household tend to neglect any other alms-seeker. The lady of the house takes special care of a religious person thereby increasing the chances of other members of the household getting annoyed.
५९ : अगुत्ती बंभचेरस्स इत्थीओ वावि संकणं।
कुसीलवड्ढणं ठाणं दूरओ परिवज्जए॥ __इस कारण गृहस्थों के घरों में बैठने से-ब्रह्मचर्य में शिथिलता आने की विध संभावना रहती है तथा स्त्रियों के देखने से (अन्य लोगों के मन में) ब्रह्मचर्य में शंका उत्पन्न होती है। अतएव कुशील के बढ़ाने वाले इस नीच स्थान को ब्रह्मचर्य व्रतधारी साधु दूर से ही त्याग दे॥५९॥
59. As it weakens the resolve of celibacy and provides opportunity to others to doubt the claimed celibacy, an ascetic observing the vow of celibacy should avoid even remote chances of indulging in this activity.
६० : तिन्हमन्नयरागस्स निसिज्जा जस्स कप्पई।
जराए अभिभूयस्स वाहिअस्स तवस्सिणो॥ यदि कोई वृद्ध हो, रोगी और तपस्वी हो तो इन तीनों व्यक्तियों में से कोई विशेष कारण पड़ने पर गृहस्थ के घर पर (कुछ समय के लिए) बैठ सकता है। क्योंकि इनको पूर्वोक्त दोषों के हो जाने की संभावना नहीं है।६०॥
