Gurmwal 29. In a household there are numerous eatables and tasty things. But if a householder does not intend to give these to a shraman, the ascetic should not get annoyed with him. He should think that it is the donor's sweet will to give or not. The seeker has no right to interfere. ३0 : सयणासण वत्थं वा भत्तपाणं च संजए।
अदितस्स न कुप्पिज्जा पच्चक्खे वि अ दीसओ॥ गृहस्थ के घर में भले ही प्रत्यक्ष दिखते हुए भी शयन, आसन, वस्त्र और अन्न-पानी आदि पदार्थ न देवे, तब भी साधु उस गृहस्थ पर किंचित्मात्र भी क्रोध न करे॥३०॥
30. A householder may even refuse to give things like a bed, mattress, clothing, or food, that are openly visible. Still the ascetic should not show even the slightest annoyance with the householder.
३१ : इत्थिअं पुरिसं वा वि डहरं वा महल्लगं।
वंदमाणं न जाइज्जा नो इणं फरुसं वए॥ __ वन्दना (स्तुति) करते हुए स्त्री-पुरुष आदि से श्रमण किसी प्रकार की याचना - न करे। यदि कोई गृहस्थ याचित वस्तु न देवे, तो साधु उसको कटु वचन भी न कहे॥३१॥
31. An ascetic should never seek anything from those who come and pay him homage. If a householder does not give what is sought, the ascetic should refrain from using abusive language.
३२ : जे न वंदे न से कुप्पे वंदिओ न समुक्कसे।
एवमन्नेसमाणस्स सामण्णमणुचिट्ठई॥ ३३ : सिया एगइओ लथु लोभेण विणिगृहई।
