ELABORATION:
Saluyam--lotus root. Viraliyam--Palash (a flower tree) root. Munaliyam-lotus stalk. Sasavanaliyam--mustard bunch or stalk.
Tanagassa-straw or reed; different commentators have interpreted it differently. Jindas Churni interprets it as arjak (one who earns) and moolak (radish). Agastya Simha interprets it as sweet-reed which may be pink sugar-cane or rice. Another possibility is that it may be short form of Trindrum (plants of palm variety) and thus it may mean coconut, date, palm, pandanus, etc.
२२ : तरुणिअं व छिवाडिं आमिअं भज्जिअं सइं।
दितिअं पडिआइक्खे न मे कप्पइ तारिसं॥ जिसमें अच्छी तरह दाने नहीं पड़े हों, ऐसी मूंग, चौला, मूंगफली आदि की फलियाँ जो सर्वथा कच्ची अथवा एक बार भुनी हुई हों, यदि दाता देने लगे, तो साधु देने वाली से कह दे कि बहन, यह आहार लेना मुझे नहीं कल्पता है।॥२२॥
22. If a donor gives pods of various grains that are raw or unripe or baked only once, the ascetic should inform the woman that he is not allowed to accept such food and therefore he cannot take it. विशेषार्थ :
श्लोक २२. तरुणिअं-तरुणी-ऐसी फली जिसमें बीज न पड़े हों।
भज्जिअं सई-एक बार भूनी हुई। धान की फलियाँ एक बार भूनने से पूरी तरह सिकती KES नहीं हैं। अतः उनके कच्ची अथवा सचित्त रह जाने की संभावना रहती है।
छिवाडिं-संबालिया-सिंगा (मूंग धान्य की) फलियाँ।
