विशेषार्थ : ___ श्लोक १७. पडिकुटुं कुलं-प्रतिक्रुष्टं कुलं-निषिद्ध या निन्दित कुल। ये दो प्रकार के हैं
अल्पकालिक (जैसे-सूतक, मृतक आदि घर) और यावत्कालिक (सदा के लिए) समाज-मर्यादा के अनुसार गर्हित कुल (जैसे-हिंसक व माँसाहारी कुल)। आचार्य श्री आत्माराम जी महाराज के अनुसार यह निषेध इसलिए है कि व्यवहार की स्थिति जो दुराचार को हटाने के लिए और सदाचार को प्रेरित करने के लिए की जाती है वह यथावत् बनी रहे। वैसे साधु को व्यक्तिगत रूप में किसी कुल से कोई द्वेष नहीं होता। किन्तु वह लोकाचार के विरुद्ध भी नहीं चल सकता।
मामगं-मामकं-वह घर जिसके गृहपति द्वारा किसी भी कारणवश 'मेरे घर पर न आना' यह कहकर भिक्षु के आने पर रोक लगा दी गई हो।
अचिअत्तं कुलं-अप्रीतं कुलं-जिस घर में साधु का आना घर वालों को अप्रिय लगे।
चिअत्तं कुलं-जहाँ पर जाने से प्रीति, आदर व धर्मभावना बढ़ती हो वह चिअत्तंप्रीतिकर कुल कहा गया है।
ELABORATION:
(17) Padikuttham kulam-prohibited families or those with a bad reputation. These are of two types—(1) Families that are prohibited for a short period due to some specific situation, such as the birth of a child or a recent death. (2) Families that are marked permanently or socially ostracized, viz. non-vegetarians, violent people, etc. According to Acharya Shri Atmaram ji M., this rule is to supplement the social norm that vices should be discouraged and virtues be encouraged. The point is, an ascetic does not indulge in social discrimination, but he also cannot go against the established social norms.
Mamagam--where the head of the family has for some reason declared ascetics as unwelcome.
Achiyattam kulam-families where ascetics are not liked.
Chiyattam kulam-families where ascetics are not only welcome but their visits enhance the faith and regard for religion.
