जब मनुष्य जीव और अजीव - इन दोनों को समझ लेता है तभी वह सब जीवों की विविध प्रकार की गतियों को भी जान लेता है || १४ ||

१४ : जया जीवमजीवे य दोऽवि एए वियाण | तया गई बहुविहं सव्वजीवाण जाणइ ॥
14. When a man understands the living and the non-living, he comes to know about the numerous types of existence of beings (real and hypothetical species and their habitats).
जब मनुष्य सब जीवों की विविध गतियों को समझ लेता है तब वह पुण्य और पाप तथा बन्ध और मोक्ष को भी जान लेता है ॥१५॥
१५ : जया गई बहुविहं सव्वजीवाण जाणइ ।
तया पुण्णं च पावं च बंधं मोक्खं च जाणइ ॥
15. When a man understands the numerous types of existence of beings, he gains the knowledge of good and bad karmas as well as knowledge of the bondage of karma and liberation.

जब मनुष्य पुण्य और पाप तथा बन्ध और मोक्ष को समझ लेता है तब जो देवों और मनुष्यों सम्बन्धी भोग हैं उनसे परिचित होकर विरक्त हो जाता है ॥१६॥
१६ : जया पुण्णं च पावं च बंधं मोक्खं च जाणइ | तया निव्विंद भोए जे दिव्वे जे य माणुसे ॥
16. When man understands good and bad karmas as well as the bondage of karma and liberation, he also understands the indulgences related to gods and human beings and gets detached from them.
१७ : जया निव्विंदए भोए जे दिव्वे जे य माणुसे । तया चयइ संजोगं सब्भिंतरबाहिरं ॥
