विषयों से उपरत साधक ही इस उत्तरवाद का आचरण करता है। आदानीयों-वह कर्मों का परिज्ञान करके, पर्याय (संयमी जीवन) से उनका क्षय करता है। ___186. An ascetic endowed with righteousness should get free of all doubts and endure every experience of grief with equanimity.
O men ! On the ascetic path only those are called nude (free of knots) who, once getting initiated, do not return to mundane
life.
My tenets are my religion (the path I have shown lies in following my tenets), I have propagated this lofty principle for human beings.
Only the aspirant who rises above the mundane indulgences is able to follow this lofty principle.
O ascetics ! He understands the karmas and sheds them by adhering to the ascetic discipline.
विवेचन--सूत्र १८५-१८६ में श्रुत-चारित्ररूप मुनि-धर्म अंगीकार करके उसके आचरण में आजीवन उद्यत रहने वाले धुतवादी महामुनि के जो लक्षण बताये हैं, वे संक्षेप में इस प्रकार हैं
(१) वस्त्र-पात्र आदि उपकरणों का यत्नापूर्वक ममत्वरहित होकर उपयोग करने वाला। (२) परीषह-सहिष्णुता का अभ्यासी। (३) समस्त प्रमादों का त्यागी। (४) काम-भोगों में या स्वजन लोक में अलिप्त/अनासक्त। (५) तप, संयम तथा धर्माचरण में दृढ़। (६) समस्त गृद्धि-भोगाकांक्षा का परित्यागी। (७) संयम या धूतवाद के प्रति प्रणत/समर्पित। (८) एकत्वभाव के द्वारा कामासक्ति या संग का सर्वथा त्यागी। (९) द्रव्य एवं भाव से सर्व प्रकार से मुण्डित।
(१०) अचेलक (जिनकल्पी) या अल्पचेलक (स्थविरकल्पी) साधना करने वाला। आचारांग सूत्र
