________________ The word 'sapehaye’ is found in three different forms with similar meanings-(1) Sayam pehae-after thinking himself; (2) Sampehae-after deliberating in different ways; and (3) Sapehae-due to some self interest or expectation. ७५. तं परिण्णाय मेहावी नेव सयं एएहिं कज्जेहिं दंडं समारंभेज्जा, नेव अन्नं एएहिं कज्जेहिं दंड समारंभावेज्जा, णेवण्णं एएहिं कज्जेहिं दंडं समारंभंतं समणुजाणेज्जा। एस मग्गे आरिएहिं पवेइए। जहेत्थ कुसले णोवलिंपेज्जासि। त्ति बेमि। ॥ बीओ उद्देसओ सम्मत्तो ॥ ७५. मेधावी पुरुष यह जानकर स्वयं हिंसा न करे, दूसरों से हिंसा न करवाए तथा हिंसा करने वाले का अनुमोदन न करे। आर्य पुरुषों ने तीर्थंकरों ने (अलोभ, अप्रमाद और अपरिग्रह का अथवा लोक-विजय का) यह मार्ग बताया है। कुशल पुरुष इन विषयों में लिप्त न हों। -ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ। || द्वितीय उद्देशक समाप्त ॥ 75. Knowing this the wise should not indulge in violence himself, neither make others do so, nor approve of others doing * so. . The accomplished ones or Tirthankars have shown this path ॐ (of contentment, alertness, and detachment for conquering this world, i.e., liberation). Intelligent men should avoid these indulgences. -So I say.
