न ही इन दोनों जनपदों में स्थाई भाव से आर्य लोगों का वसति स्थापन कर सकने का वर्णन है। परन्तु ई० पू० तीसरी शताब्दी में सम्राट अशोक के शिलालेख से हम जान सकते हैं कि इस के शासन काल में (ई० पू० २७२ से २३२) बोधायान के । . भाव से निपिद्ध कलिंग जनपद में भी बहुत ब्राह्मणों की वसति थी तथा उस के साम्राज्यवर्ती किसी भी जनपद में यहां तक कि बंग में भी ब्राह्मणों का प्रभाव नहीं था । इतना प्रमाण मिलने पर भी यह विशेष
