वृहत्कल्पपीठिकावृत्ति प्रस्तुत वृत्ति भद्रबाहु स्वामी विरचित बृहत्कल्पनियुक्ति एवं संघदासगणी बिरचित लघुभाष्य पर है। आचार्य मलयगिरि पीठिका की भाष्य गाथा 606 पर्यन्त ही अपनी वृत्ति लिख सके। आगे उन्होंने वृत्ति नहीं लिखी है। आगे की वृत्ति प्राचार्य क्षेमकीर्ति ने पूर्ण की है। जैसा कि स्वयं क्षेमकीर्ति ने भी स्वीकार किया है।' वृत्ति के प्रारम्भ में वृत्तिकार ने जिनेश्वर देव को प्रणाम कर सद्गुरुदेव का स्मरण किया है तथा भाष्यकार और चूर्णिकार के प्रति भी कृतज्ञता व्यक्त की है। वृत्तिकार ने बृहत्कल्प एवं व्यवहारसूत्र के निर्माताओं के सम्बन्ध में लिखा है कि चतुर्दश पूर्वधर भद्रबाह स्वामी ने श्रमणों के अनुग्रहार्थ कल्प और व्यवहार की रचना की जिससे कि प्रायश्चित्त का व्यवच्छेद न हो / उन्होंने सूत्र के गम्भीर रहस्यों को स्पष्ट करने के लिये नियुक्ति की ही रचना की है और जिनमें प्रतिभा की तेजस्विता का अभाव है उन अल्पबुद्धि वाले व्यक्तियों के लिए भाष्यकार ने भाष्य का निर्माण किया है। वह नियुक्ति और भाष्य सूत्र के अर्थ को प्रकट करने वाले होने से दोनों एक ग्रन्थ रूप हो गये। वत्ति में प्राकृत गाथाओं का उद्धरण के रूप में प्रयोग हआ है और विषय को सुबोध बनाने की दृष्टि से प्राकृत कथाएँ उद्धृत की गई हैं। प्रस्तुत मलयमिरि वृत्ति का ग्रन्थमान 4600 श्लोक प्रमाण है। इस प्रकार हम देखते हैं कि प्राचार्य मलयगिरि शास्त्रों के गम्भीर ज्ञाता थे। विभिन्न दर्शनशास्त्रों का जैसा और जितना गम्भीर विवेचन एवं विश्लेषण उनकी टीकाओं में उपलब्ध है, वैसा अन्यत्र कहीं पर भी उपलब्ध नहीं है / वे अपने युग के महान् तत्त्वचिन्तक, प्रसिद्ध टीकाकार और महान् व्याख्याता थे। आगमों के गुरुगम्भीर रहस्यों को तर्कपूर्ण शैली में प्रस्तुत करने की उनकी क्षमता अद्भुत थी, अनूठी थी। सौभाग्यसागर ने बृहत्कल्प पर संस्कृत भाषा में एक टीका लिखी। बृहत्कल्पनियुक्ति, लघुभाष्य तथा मलयगिरि, क्षेमकीर्ति कृत टीका सहित सन् 1933 से 1941 तक श्री जैन प्रात्मानन्द सभा भावनगर सौराष्ट्र से प्रकाशित हुई। प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थ का सम्पादन चतुरविजयजी और पुण्यविजयजी ने किया। सम्पादन कला की दृष्टि से यह सम्पादन उत्कृष्ट कहा जा सकता है। वृहत्कल्प एक अज्ञात टीकाकार की टीका सहित सम्यकज्ञान प्रचारक मण्डल जोधपुर से प्रकाशित हा। सन 1923 में जर्मन टिप्पणी आदि के साथ W.
