________________ 195 What is really required for liberation is to know and adopt the right path. There need not be any difference of opinions or views about that. The first part (11 stanzas, # 97-107) of this chapter dealing with the path of liberation ends here. કષાયની ઉપશાંતતા, માત્ર મોક્ષઅભિલાષ; ભવે ખેદ અંતર દયા, તે કહીએ જિજ્ઞાસ. ||૧૦૮|| Kashayani Upashäntatä, Mätra Moksha Abhilash; Bhave Khed Antar Dayä, Te Kahie Jijnäs. One, whose passions are calmed down, who aspires only for liberation, who feels disaffection for embodiment, and holds compassion within, is called a truth seeker. - 108 Jain Education International Ätmasiddhi Explanation & Discussion: Now starts the second part (6 stanzas) that describes the stages on the path of liberation. The first stage consists of being a truth seeker. This stanza states four characteristics for that purpose. Pacification or calming down the passions, aspiration for liberation, and disaffection towards the worldly life are the first three of them.
