Paumävai One of the eight principal wives of Vasudeva Kanha(1),1 She was daughter of king Hiraņpaņābha of Ariştapura In order to obtain her Kapha had to fight with many of the kings invited on the occasion of her self-choosing (svayamvara) ceremony. She took initiation from Titthayara Aritthapemi, observed asceticism under nun Jakkhiņi for a period of twenty years and then attained emanicipation.3
